When things slow down after the back-to-school season, consider a temporary staff exchange with a noncompeting practice. (You could also “lend” an employee to a store in another market where the sales seasons run to a different rhythm.) Shaking things up nearly always yields benefits, as you and your staff are exposed to new ideas and new ways of doing business.
