A new study conducted among prescription eyeglass wearers in the UK and USA by Atelier Eyewear proves that more than eight out of ten people are wearing poorly fitting glasses frames.
To complete the Atelier survey, the company conducted eyewear fittings amongst visitors* to the company's website using their unique UltraTool proprietary measurement software that delivers highly accurate 3D scans of facial and cranial features online.
Other key findings from the study include:
- Six out of every ten eyewear users are wearing a frame that has a bridge that is too tight
- More than half (65 percent) of all eyewear users are wearing glasses in which the frame is too wide
- 71% of glasses wearers are wearing a frame where the temples (arms) are too short.
"Finding eyewear that fits can be a real challenge," according to Tim de Rosen, Atelier CEO.
De Rosen went on to say: "People sometimes choose a certain style and base their decision on the style rather than the fit. That's not the best decision for them in the long term because comfort and fit are by far and away the most important aspects to consider when buying eyewear."
