Says cat-eye sunglasses can be 'retro without feeling vintage.'
Sunglasses designer Adam Selmen got an idea from a Stanley Kubrick film, Vogue Australia reports. According to the article, his Last Lolita frames, from Le Specs, were inspired by the shades worn by Sue Lyon in "Lolita," as well as by sunglasses worn by Catherine Deneuve in "The Hunger." The cat-eye sunglasses' fans include model Gigi Hadid (shown). Selmen, who is nominated for a CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund award, says cat-eye designs are "utterly feminine and really make a cool statement. If they're right, they can be retro without feeling vintage, blending the past and present."
