Evaluation was based on emails and other documents.
Canadian optician Jay Hakim has filed a complaint with the provincial medical regulator, claiming a psychiatrist wrote a critical psychiatric evaluation despite the two never having met, the CBC reports. The article says the psychiatrist, Joel Sadavoy, wrote the evaluation amid a dispute Hakim, of Burlington, Ontario, was having with fellow members of the executive council of the College of Opticians of Ontario. Sadavoy allegedly based the report on Hakim's emails and documents sent by the college. Hakim aired his complaint with the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, whose decision is pending.
