And he agreed not to renew the license.
The Iowa Board of Optometry has taken steps to prevent an optometrist who was convicted of assaulting a colleague from practicing. The license of Allen Jones, of Sheldon, has been put on probation until June 30, 2018, the Sioux City Journal reports. And Jones has agreed, in a settlement with the board, not to attempt to reactivate the license after that point. Jones, 69, was convicted in 2015 of misdemeanor assault. Accused of attacking a fellow optometrist, he was handed a one-month suspended sentence along with probation, according to the newspaper.
