Wayne Gray's efforts have helped thousands in Canada and abroad.
Wayne Gray, founder of Canadian chain Vogue Optical, will receive the Canadian Red Cross's 2016 Humanitarian Award for Prince Edward Island, The Guardian of Charlottetown, PE, reports. According to the article, Gray has supportedto the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and donated eyewear for distribution in developing countries through the Christian Blind Mission International. Gray's efforts have helped "thousands of people with vision impairment in Canada and around the world," a provincial Red Cross official says. Gray founded what became Vogue Optical in 1979, and the chain now has more than 60 Canadian locations. The award will be presented Oct. 19 at a fundraising dinner.
