The Optical Women’s Association has announced its new officer slate for 2015, along with additional changes to its board of directors.

The executive committee sees changes with the departure of Jodi Groh, previously with Nanofilm, from the board. The current OWA secretary/treasurer, Heather Smith is stepping into the role of vice president for 2015. Smith takes the position previously held by Groh who has served on the board for three years. Smith, VisionWeb’s director of marketing, also co-chairs the digital marketing committee along with new board member, Liz Segre.

Kate Renwick-Espinosa is moving into Smith’s secretary/treasurer position. Renwick-Espinosa, chief marketing officer, VSP Global has served on the OWA board of directors for one year. Renwick-Espinosa is also the co-chair of the mentoring committee, along with new board member Debbie Myres.

Debbie Lochli has completed her board term as of September 2014, but will remain active in the OWA and will continue her work on the Mentoring Committee. Groh will finish out the year on the OWA board through the end of December 2014.

“It’s been a real pleasure working with both Jodi and Debbie over the last few years. We appreciate their enthusiastic support of the OWA and all of the contributions they have made to the organization,” said Christie Walker, OWA president. “I’m looking forward to my second year as president and working closely with Heather, Kate, and Ann Englert on the executive committee and all the OWA board members. Together we strive to connect, inspire and lead for the benefit of our members.”
