Drs. Adam Young and Christina Phan opened First Class Eye Care in late 2020 with a mission to provide exactly that—first class service—to their local community in Georgia’s Gwinnett County, the most diverse county in the Southeastern U.S.

For Drs. Young and Phan, the past two years have been a blur of personal and professional milestones, including not only the opening of their practice but also their wedding less than a year later … just three days after moving into their new home.

Patients encounter an impressive list of next-level personal touches, from live online scheduling and intake forms using a tablet, to handwritten thank you letters signed by the entire team and customized boxes for shipping patients’ glasses and contact lenses.

First Class Eye Care’s bright, modern and inviting optical space routinely draws compliments from patients, with wood shelving hanging from floor-to-ceiling ropes displaying a carefully curated selection of 100% independent frames sourced from near and far.

The office features a “green” wall complete with a water fountain flanked by photos of the doctors. The sound of the water contributes to a warm, soothing environment.

Jenn Denham, director of growth marketing at Optify and one of the judges for INVISION’s America’s Finest Optical Retailers contest, commented: “First Class Eye Care shines from the inside out with a bright and calming interior that has a modern, welcoming feel.”

The office is filled with artwork blending diversity and eyewear. Every portrait has a unique image/display showing someone from a diverse background wearing eyewear.

Drs. Young and Phan created referral pads to give to medical practitioners and other optometry/optical offices in the local area to help build the business.

In cooperation with non-profit Boy With a Ball, First Class Eye Care provides free comprehensive exams and glasses to underprivileged people, many of whom have never had an exam before.

Eyewear is dispensed on custom wooden trays engraved with the office’s name.

David Duralde, chief creative officer at OGI Eyewear and one of the judges for INVISION’s America’s Finest Optical Retailers contest, commented that the team at First Class Eye Care “is truly dedicated to the community… The frame selection is top notch, which means eyewear styling will be on-point and this reminds us that independent eyecare will always be an important part of the eyewear landscape.”
