VisionPoint Eye Center will soon open in Bloomington, IL, merging four practices into one.

Its first day in business will be Aug. 6, the Bloomington Pantagraph reports.

The combined practice will operate in a new 28,000-square-foot, $10 million building.

The merging practices are McLean County Eye Center, Eyecare Associates, Eye Surgical Associates and Eye Surgical Associates.

“We are very pleased with how things are coming together and anxious to show our patients our new facility,” said Julie Payne, chief strategy officer for VisionPoint, according to the Pantagraph.

About 90 people will work in the new building.

The optometrists and ophthalmologists involved were originally to be joined by optical boutique Specs Around Town, owned by Julie Kubsch. The business planned to move to the new facility from downtown Bloomington, while continuing to operate as a separate business.

But Kubsch has decided not to move, the Pantagraph reports.
