They hope to move in next summer.

Four eyecare practices in Illinois plan to merge in a 27,000-square-foot structure that will cost $10 million to build.

The groups, all located in the Bloomington-Normal area, are McLean County Eye Center, Eyecare Associates, Eye Surgical Associates and Eye Surgical Associates, The Pantagraph reports.

The groups hope to move into the new building in August 2019. The name of the new business has not yet been announced.

The optometrists and ophthalmologists will be joined by optical boutique Specs Around Town, owned by Julie Kubsch. The business is moving to the new facility from downtown Bloomington, but will continue to operate as a separate business.

The combined practices will have about 90 employees.

“Through economies of scale and shared expenses, the new business will be able to provide the most advanced technology which continues to improve and enhance the quality of diagnosing and treating all eye conditions,” said Dr. Scott Pinter of Eye Surgical Associates.
