(PRESS RELEASE) Think About Your Eyes, a nationwide public advertising initiative, has asked five optometrists to serve on an advisory panel for the campaign.

Their involvement includes providing feedback and counsel on different aspects of the campaign from the perspective of a practicing optometrist. They’ll also serve as advocates for the campaign both within the profession and with industry and media opportunities.

“Think About Your Eyes is affecting change in the public’s mindset, which is resulting in more people taking control of their vision health and getting an annual eye exam,” said Tommy Lucas, OD and president of First Eye Care in Harker Heights, TX. “I’m thrilled to work with the campaign in an official capacity and provide an OD’s perspective on the campaign moving forward.”

The advisory panel optometrists, in addition to Lucas, are Dr. Jacquie Bowen (Greeley, CO), Dr. Mario Contaldi (North Richland Hills, TX), Dr. Sue Lowe (Laramie, WY), and Dr. Chris Babin (Yakima, WA).
