Halsey’s sentence followed a guilty plea. In all, the stolen merchandise was reported to be worth $500,000.

The 52-year-old Halsey worked with a co-conspirator named William Albert Engel, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Maryland. Authorities said Engel stole the designer sunglasses from stores within shopping malls.
