Dr. Chris Lopez’s favorite things about running his business are 1) Autonomy; 2) Improved financial standing, and 3) Being in charge of his own success. A strong preference for self-direction is obvious, as in addition to his practices, he is also co-founder of the popular ODs on Finance. What’s not so obvious is his ability to prioritize finding time for himself. “As busy as life can get with a wife, kids and their activities, practices, sports, ODs on Finance business, and more – it’s still important to carve out ‘me’ time. It’s not about having time – it’s about making time. I think a lot of ‘successful’ people boast about being so busy. I don’t understand that. Personally, I hate being busy. However, I do like being productive. Many think of themselves as being busy but being busy doesn’t equal being productive.” He maintains that productivity by staying sane through time spent with loved ones. “Once I get home, I’m in ‘dad mode’ until bedtime. And it may sound odd to unwind with work but there are always projects and tasks to do with ODs on Finance. But this work totally falls in line with the cheesy adage, ‘If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.’ The daily messages we receive from those benefitting from the group make it all worthwhile.”
