Smart Ways to In-House Finish

An edging machine has been invaluable for our cold start practice. Not only do we save on our cost of goods for single-vision orders, but patients are always shocked at our two-to-three-day turnaround. We do 10-15 jobs a day and must ensure they are completed correctly and quickly. We had a previous Santinelli edger and loved it. We were ready for an upgrade and were excited for the LEXCE Plus. We have been very happy with it. The new LEXCE saves about 15 minutes per job. We are now able to handle a large volume without any concerns. If I were to recommend one item to invest in it would be an in-office edging system.

We decided to go with the MEI EasyFit with Smart Facets because we needed a way to work on more advanced edging designs and rimless drill jobs without tying up our main equipment. Our experience has been very positive. It has given us a practical way to take on more specialized work with better repeatability and less manual trial and error. It also helps us keep the rest of production moving. This system has improved turnaround time on specialized jobs, reduced the amount of labor involved, and given us more consistent results, especially in terms of symmetry and overall finish. In design-driven work, consistency is hard to achieve by hand alone..
