1 People pleaser? Take the 30-day No-vember challenge. Every day say no to one thing — a request for your time, a plea for a discount, even something you want but is a distraction. In any situation that would trigger a reflexive “yes,” pause and offer some variation of “That doesn’t work for me.”

5 The nation goes to the polls today for what promises to be a colorful Election Day. Get in the spirit and offer your own poll: Ask visitors to vote on an “Election Day” special on your website and socials. Everyone who votes gets a gift certificate (and you get their e-mail address). But also be a civic-minded boss and ensure your staff gets enough time to go vote.

13-19 The focus of your public service efforts this month? Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) Awareness Week. Prevent Blindness provides free educational content for ECPs at invisionmag.com/102401. The incidence of TED remains stable, but its severity and risks underestimated, so awareness is crucial.

28 Thanksgiving is perfect timing for a client appreciation event. Invite your top 50 customers to a “thank you” party. Offer food, drink, music, and a private viewing of your best eyewear. Everyone is looking for gifts this time of year.
