ABB Optical to Participate in Optometry Giving Sight’s World Sight Day Challenge

It will donate a portion of Digital Eye Lab sales.

(Press Release) CORAL SPRINGS, FL – As a World Sight Day Challenge coalition member, ABB Optical Group will donate a percentage of all Digital Eye Lab sales for the month of October.

Optometry Giving Sight aims to fund projects that will give sight and hope to more than 1 million children in 2017. Donations to Optometry Giving Sight’s World Sight Day Challenge will benefit the organization’s Our Children’s Vision campaign, which works towards ensuring that effective, inclusive and sustainable eye health initiatives are available to children around the world.

“The World Sight Day Challenge is incredibly important to millions of children worldwide,” said ABB Optical Group CEO Angel Alvarez. “With the recent natural disasters of the past few months, from the earthquakes in Mexico to the hurricanes affecting the Caribbean, Florida and Texas, it is more important than ever for the optical industry to join together to help those in need.”

In addition to its donation, ABB Optical Group also will participate as a moderator in a Twitterchat focused on children’s eye health, hosted by Optometry Giving Sight from noon to 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 12. Parents, vision care practitioners and industry professionals around the world can participate by following @givingsightorg and using the hashtag #shareforsight.
