Their favorite parts of their business are: “watching our leaders evolve into and start to trust their potential, seeing the enthusiasm and joy on our customer and patient’s faces when they are transformed by their eyewear, and being able to support so many local non-profits in their worthy missions.” Of course, that sort of dedication to others isn’t without its disadvantages. According to Robbie, you can never “completely detach from it” when you’re a business owner. When it becomes a little too overwhelming, “Mike rides his road bike for hours, fixes all the mechanical things wrong in our house and business, and is the best bartender I know. Hallelujah,” says Robbie. While she plays tennis, journals, chats with friends, occasionally has a good cry, and tries to “learn more and more about how to use our privilege to be a stronger support to the gritty city I love so much.” Hallelujah.
