You may not have met Sophia Pray yet but chances are you can’t miss her. Her love of bright color, bold pattern, and big smile is her “personal sunshine” and she brings that sunshine to work. “Working in a private practice, I can be a true partner. I’m in charge of frame buying, hiring and training,” she says. “When you are a smaller optical you can focus on the small details and create a curated experience [patients] wouldn’t get elsewhere.” She also loves “seeing our numbers grow. When you have your hand in the day to day it is so exciting seeing your hard work pay off.” Of course, customer complaints, insurance, and new hires that don’t make the cut can dim her shine, but when that happens a good meal, a cold beer, and dancing to a favorite record betters her mood. “I try to stay positive and know that I am giving my all and some days are better than others.”
