(PRESS RELEASE) ST. LOUIS, MO — On August 24, the Administration announced the extension of the federal student loan payment holiday through December 31, 2022, along with up to $10,000 in student loan forgiveness (and up to $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients) for borrowers making less than $125,000. AOAExcel will partner with Laurel Road on Wednesday, November 2 at 8PM ET to host a workshop focused on answering questions regarding these two announcements entitled “Navigating the Student Loan Payment Re-start with Confidence.”
This live-event workshop will cover topics such as:
- What is student loan refinancing – are you eligible? Could you save by refinancing? Will refinancing affect your credit score?
- What the federal student loan payment & interest pause means for ODs
- How ODs can position their student loans during interest rate uncertainty
- Explanation of the federal student loan debt forgiveness as it pertains to ODs
- How AOA members can receive a 0.25% rate discount
AOA members are encouraged to bring their own individual questions about student loans and have them answered live during the workshop. AOAExcel members who are ready to refinance their student loans can receive a 0.25% rate discount through Laurel Road here and can check their rates in less than 5 minutes – without any effect on their credit score.
The federal student loan payment and interest holiday is slated to end on December 31, as thousands of AOA members may be required to resume payment and may begin accruing interest on federal student loans for the first time in almost 2 years.
