(PRESS RELEASE) ST. LOUIS —AOAExcel is hosting a workshop to provide doctors of optometry with answers to their retirement questions and explain the effects of the new Secure 2.0 Act. AOA members are encouraged to attend “Recent Retirement Plan Changes: What Optometric Practice Owners Need to Know” “Last year’s retirement planning webinar was very popular,” says AOAExcel chairman Samuel Pierce, OD, “and I know a lot of ODs will benefit from this information.”
AOAExcel will partner with endorsed business partner Equitable Financial, a long-standing pillar in the retirement and protection industry, to provide attendees the opportunity to learn from an expert and ask questions about retirement planning and the Secure 2.0 Act. Retirement Program Specialist Nathanael Kelley of Equitable will host the workshop. “This is a great chance for practice owners and ODs to ask questions and learn more about retirement plans in a casual setting,” says Kelley.
Topics to be covered include:
- How ODs can use retirement plans to reduce taxable income
- What recent changes in Secure Act 2.0 mean for you and your retirement
- How offering a retirement plan to employees can benefit your optometric practice
- How to understand set-up & administrative costs
- How AOA members can receive a free retirement planning consultation
The workshop will be hosted on EyeLearn, the AOA’s new professional development hub that offers educational modules and resources to help advance the practice of contemporary optometry. Those interested in attending the workshop can register at eyelearn.aoa.org. Participants are encouraged to bring questions or submit them ahead of time to aoaexcel@aoa.org.
