If a customer’s choice is “not perfect or fabulous, I just can’t go there.”
The daughter of an optometrist and the sister of another, Barbi Tuckerman, owner of B. Tuckerman Unique Eyewear in Columbus, OH has definite ideas on what frame makes a good fit, and she won’t sell anything else. “If it’s not perfect or fabulous, I just can’t go there,” says Tuckerman, who stocks more than 3,500 frames in the store, ranging in price from $450 to $3,000. “If people want to come in and tell me what they need — that doesn’t work for me. People come to me because they want me to pick out frames for them.”
