A Minnesota man who lost his sight to retinitis pigmentosa was able to see his wife for the first time in roughly ten years thanks to a retinal prosthesis system devised by Second Sight. The couple was videotaped at the Mayo Clinic as 68-year-old Allen Zderad faced wife Carmen with his new bionic eye, calling the image of her “crude but significant.”
