(PRESS RELEASE) SACRAMENTO, CA – The California Optometric Association (COA) announced that it has developed a webpage of resources on COVID-19 for doctors, staff, their families, and patients. The page includes recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and guidance from the American Optometric Association on appropriate eye care during this time. It also provides information on benefits available to COA members, many of whom are small business owners, as they navigate this ever-changing climate.

“COA is working to keep optometrists statewide informed of the latest guidelines from federal, state, and local agencies – particularly the CDC’s advice this week that all routine appointments be postponed while remaining available for eye health emergencies,” said Jason Tu, O.D., president, California Optometric Association. “As health care providers, we understand the need to have the most up to date information easily accessible at your fingertips as this situation evolves. On this new COA resource page, doctors of optometry and the optometric community can find information on social distancing, updates on licensure requirements, and advice for small business owners. California optometrists should know COA is in their corner during this public health crisis.”

The webpage can be found here.
