Charmant USA President Departs; New Chief Named

A company veteran will serve as CEO.

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ – Ken Onishi, president of Charmant USA, has left the company with plans to return to Japan and pursue other ventures.

Masakiyo Honjo has been appointed president and CEO of Charmant USA effective Jan. 1, the company announced.

Honjo has worked for the Charmant Group for the past 31 years in various capacities. He has experience in manufacturing, product development and innovative technology, as well as a deep understanding of sales and marketing, the company said.

In 2005 he was stationed in the U.S. and served as vice president of product development for two years. In addition, he has worked in the China, Hong Kong and France subsidiaries over the years before returning to Japan.

Currently, he holds the title of COO/international business division and chief product officer of the group.

Mike Miyachi, CEO of Charmant Inc., said, “I have the utmost confidence in Mr. Honjo’s leadership abilities. He has worked closely with the U.S. team over the years and will further build upon that and bring a close collaboration with our headoffice in Japan.”
