SELF-IMPROVEMENT Close out team meetings with a five-minute group meditation. Phones off, eyes shut, no incense. You can find pre-timed, guided ones on specific topics — productivity or abundance perhaps? — in the free versions of apps like Calm and Insight Timer. Outcome: a calmer crew — or at least five minutes of peace.

CUSTOMER APPRECIATION Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 10. Look at your appointments for the Friday and Saturday right before and order some long stem pink roses to hand out to the moms. Moms do so much, some estimates even say they drive about 75–80% of eyecare and eyewear purchasing decisions for their families. Show them some appreciation too. Bonus: Coming home with a flower should remind her family about her upcoming big day too. Win win.
LEADERSHIP Make one decision you’ve been avoiding. Even if it’s imperfect, movement beats paralysis.

CREATIVITY Capture ideas. Put a notebook in a central location and tell staff to jot down customer comments or random ideas all week. Then review it together Friday.
LEADERSHIP Shadow your top performer for an hour. Write down what they do differently. Teach it to everyone else. BONUS: Update SOPs and manuals to reflect their best practices.
PLANNING Put your brand pillars in writing. When the next shiny partnership or sponsorship comes along, test it against them.

TRAINING Run a 10-minute feedback drill. Have staff practice asking patients for referrals. Do it weekly until it comes naturally.
SOCIAL MEDIA Schedule a one-hour filming block. Record yourself (or staff) talking about products, repairs, or store life. Hand the footage to your team (or even a free app) to cut into 20–30 short clips. Pro Tip: Occasionally switch up your eyewear, jewelry, tie or hair to keep the look fresh.
