(PRESS RELEASE) SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Coburn Technologies, a global leader in ophthalmic lens processing systems and ophthalmic instruments, announced the retirement of David Short, European Commercial Manager. After 15 years with the company, Short plans to officially retire this April 2025.

“I have witnessed many milestones in my 49 years in the optical industry,” stated Short after reflecting on his career. “I’m immensely proud to have played a part in the transformation of our industry to what it is today.”

Short brought robust experience from several recognized companies in the UK. He began his career in 1976 at Autoflow Ltd. and later held positions at AO Safety, Norville Autoflow, Optronics UK, and Cerium. Finally in 2010, Short joined Coburn Technologies to serve the European market and develop new business in the area.

Short continued, sharing that “Coburn has given me opportunity to help customers transition to new technologies which previously would have been prohibitive. I’m pleased that thanks to our collective efforts, many customers today benefit from new production technology making their businesses sustainable and future-proof.”
