CARLSBAD, CA – The SynergEyes Inc. board of directors has appointed Bob Ferrigno as CEO of the company, effective June 27.

Ferrigno joined SynergEyes in 2015 and has led the sales and marketing efforts in expanding the company from a hybrid contact lens company to a specialty contact lens company. His team was responsible for launching the SynergEyes VS scleral contact lens, and is currently marketing and selling the new SimplifEyes soft daily contact lens brand. At SynergEyes, Ferrigno has also led the implementation of programs to strengthen support for eyecare professionals and their patients.

Prior to joining SynergEyes, Ferrigno served as president of North America for CooperVision. While at CooperVision, he led the integration of the $1.2 billion Sauflon contact lens company acquisition, focusing on sales infrastructure, logistics, operations and a launch strategy to rapidly grow contact lens sales in the one-day contact lens segment.

Ferrigno held executive and general management positions with Becton Dickinson, a global medical technology company, for 32 years, managing key areas including sales, marketing, international operations and global research and development. During his career with BD, Ferrigno held positions including vice president of global expansion, vice president of global strategic marketing and vice president of research and development.
