(PRESS RELEASE) BOCA RATON, FL & RANCHO CORDOVA, CA — Professional Eye Care Associates of America (PECAA) and VSP Vision announced the extension of the VSP Vision Exam Rebate through 2025, offering doctors the opportunity to receive up to $10 per VSP commercial eye exam, and as much as $60,000 in total incremental revenue next year. To date, more than 2,000 practices have benefited from $20 million for the care they deliver to patients.

“Doctor response to the Vision Exam Rebate is resounding, and this innovative membership benefit is a clear demonstration of the unique value that PECAA and VSP Vision deliver to private practices,” said PECAA President Jonathan Worrall. “We hear every day from doctors who credit the rebate with their ability to invest in staff training, new technology and more. We’re proud to extend this offer that’s a differentiator for independent eye care.”
Originally launched in July 2023, the rebate was extended through 2024 and subsequently enhanced by doubling the value.
“The money that we’ve received from the rebate was used to fund the up-front investment in new frame lines, which we hadn’t had in a while,” said Dina Davis, OD, of Davis Eye Associates in Fayetteville, Arkansas. “With rising costs, the Vision Exam Rebate is substantial and very beneficial to independent practitioners.”
The extended rebate joins a suite of PECAA Max member offerings designed to support the long-term success of independent eye care professionals.

“Private practice owners face many financial challenges,” said VSP Vision Chief Provider and Industry Solutions Officer Michelle Skinner. “The VSP Vision Exam Rebate helps ensure they have support to address these challenges head on and keep their practice on a trajectory to continue positive growth.”
Additionally, PECAA announced the launch of PECAA Dry Eye Partners, a comprehensive program that supports private practice owners in enhancing their expertise around all aspects of dry eye disease. Delivered as a one-stop solution, the Dry Eye Partners program is available at no fee to PECAA Max members and provides a variety of education and consultation services, as well as deep discounts on the products and equipment used in treating dry eye disease. The program is available now in California, Colorado, Florida and Texas and will expand nationwide in 2025.
Dry eye was ranked as the second top area of specialty among those surveyed for the Eyes On Eyecare 2024 Dry Eye Report, and will account for 42% of practices’ clinical focus over the next 12 months. Further, with the prevalence of dry eye disease increasing — approximately 16 million Americans diagnosed and many others undiagnosed — and the global dry eye market’s $2.13 billon growth forecast, independents have a timely opportunity to offer dry eye services to help manage this ocular disorder.
