CooperVision Acquires EnsEyes to Accelerate Specialty Growth

EnsEyes has partnered with customers in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland for the past decade, providing customized lenses and professional education.

SAN RAMON, CA — CooperVision has acquired EnsEyes, a supplier of orthokeratology (ortho-k) and scleral contact lenses in the Nordic region. The company will operate within the CooperVision Specialty EyeCare group.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Kolding, Denmark, EnsEyes has partnered with customers in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland for the past decade, providing customized lenses and professional education. The acquisition is expected to help accelerate growth of specialty lens adoption across these markets, according to a press release.

“We have collaborated with EnsEyes for years, including its use of MyProcornea for lens ordering. Joining CooperVision will give its highly respected team more resources for growth, further build the expertise of our organization, and support eye care professionals’ soaring enthusiasm for specialty fitting,” said Juan Carlos Aragón, OD, president of CooperVision Specialty EyeCare.

CooperVision Specialty EyeCare develops, manufactures, and provides access to a portfolio of industry-leading soft and custom rigid gas permeable lens designs, including orthokeratology and scleral lenses to address segments such as myopia management, irregular cornea, and presbyopia. EnsEyes founder — optometrist and former CooperVision executive Esben Nørregaard Sørensen — will remain with the company. Customers should continue to work with their current EnsEyes representatives. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
