FAREHAM, UK — CooperVision announced its acquisition of No7 Contact Lenses, which designs and manufactures specialty contact lenses distributed primarily in the UK.
The company will operate within the CooperVision Specialty EyeCare group, “complementing a portfolio of innovative products used by eye care professionals to manage challenges such as myopia progression in children and irregular cornea,” according to a press release.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“No7 Contact Lenses has been our partner for several years in the UK while expanding its business. The acquisition will enable us to directly offer more of our products through No7’s well-established channels, while expanding access to their designs,” said Juan Carlos Aragón, OD, president of CooperVision Specialty EyeCare. “In tandem, the agreement should further accelerate the development of myopia management solutions in the UK.”
Ashley Pepper, managing director of No7 Contact Lenses, said, “We have great respect for CooperVision and have enjoyed a strong working relationship with its Specialty Eyecare team. Today’s news will help us have an even greater impact on the eye care professionals who prescribe our contact lenses, and the adults and children whose vision and lives are made better because of them.”
CooperVision Specialty EyeCare’s other brands include Blanchard, GP Specialists, Paragon, Procornea and Soflex.
