(PRESS RELEASE) SAN RAMON, CA — CooperVision and the American Optometric Association’s Contact Lens & Cornea Section (AOA-CLCS) co-hosted more than 20 fast-rising optometrists earlier this month at their Residency Forum 2025. The three-day program, held in Houston, featured hands-on learning, interactive panel discussions, and leadership development sessions, all aimed at preparing attendees for more successful careers.
Highlights from the event included six wet lab tracks offering real patient contact lens fitting and troubleshooting experience in conjunction with Bellaire Family Eye Care; a lifestyle-focused panel discussion on matching lens technologies to patient needs; interactive leadership development and peer networking sessions; and special remarks from AOA President Dr. Jacqueline Bowen. Expert staffing was provided by CLCS members and CooperVision’s Professional Affairs team.
“CooperVision is committed to supporting the education and growth of the next generation of contact lens specialists,” said Jennifer Palombi, OD, FAAO, Director, Professional Education & Development, Americas, CooperVision. “Our annual Residency Forum is one of those rare opportunities where residents can learn side-by-side with seasoned experts, respond to patient challenges, and discuss the ‘why’ behind clinical decisions. It is rewarding to see these future leaders in optometry grow in both skill and confidence over the course of just a few days.”
