ALL SECTORS of the optical industry have had to adjust the way they function due to the ongoing closing of businesses across the globe because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Telemedicine is being embraced like never before. E-Commerce, once a concern of brick-and-mortar businesses, has become the sole revenue driver of many independents. Telecommuting is the new norm. But what comes after? The expectation that we all go back to exactly how we were before is likely a misguided one. It will probably be some sort of hybrid of life before AND during the havoc coronavirus wrought. Our panelists will discuss their visions, and expectations, of the eyecare world post-COVID-19 and how that might affect manufacturers, ECPs and consumers alike in the future.
