Editor’s Note: Get Ready To Be a Show-Off

It’s time to enter
our 2016 America’s Finest competition

Happy New Year! I hope your 2016 is off to a great start. If you’re looking for a way to make it truly memorable, here’s one idea: Enter our 2016 America’s Finest Optical Retailers competition. The deadline is earlier this year — March 15 — so if you’re a U.S. vision care business with six or fewer locations, it’s not too soon to start working on your entry. You’ll find full details and the official entry form at invmag.us/finest.

We’ll be picking a dozen finalists this year. The best way to make the cut? First, tell us why your business is special and describe what sets your business apart from the rest. Second, include the same sort of high-quality photos you see in our monthly America’s Finest features. (Hint: Photos that look good on your website or Facebook feed won’t necessarily look good in the pages of our glossy magazine. To learn why, read invmag.us/photos.)

This issue, I’d also like to introduce you to Marissa Walsh, who has begun curating our frames coverage here in the print magazine as well as at invisionmag.com, where we feature a new frame every weekday. Marissa is the author of Girl with Glasses: My Optic History, among other books. She joins our regular roster of contributors — including Jesse Burkhart and Carol Gilhawley and our crack team of columnists — whose work you’ve been enjoying in INVISION. Together, we have lots of stories in the works that will help you make 2016 a wildly successful year — and have plenty of fun while you’re at it.
