EssilorLuxottica and Swarovski this week announced a 10-year partnership agreement.
The eyewear titan will hold the exclusive license for the design, manufacture, and worldwide distribution of Swarovski Eyewear.
The collaboration will run through December 31, 2028, with an automatic renew option for an additional five years. The first joint collection is scheduled for release in September 2023. Swarovski’s creative director Giovanna Engelbert will develop the line.
EssilorLuxottica framed the agreement as a combination of “Swarovski’s creativity and savoir-faire with the knowledge, innovation, and expertise of EssilorLuxottica.”
Swarovski Eyewear previously partnered with Marcolin Group. Its first sunglasses collection went to market in 2011. The Austrian company is best known for its man-made crystal glass jewelry and accessories.
“We are delighted to further evolve our Swarovski Eyewear business with global leader EssilorLuxottica,” said Alexis Nasard, CEO of Swarovski, in a press release. “This is in-line with our LUXignite strategy, and is a natural partnership for us.”

We have always seen each pair of frames as a piece of art to be worn, which makes Swarovski and its story such a wonderful fit.”
