An eyecare practice in Iowa has fallen victim to a ransomware attack, the Sioux City Journal reports.
Southern Hills Eye Care, an optometry practice, found in January that a server had been compromised.
The practice said in a press release: “Although at this time there is no evidence that patient information was accessed or viewed, or any indication of anyone’s information being misused, the practice has taken steps to notify anyone who may have been affected by this incident.”
Notification letters mailed on March 15 include additional information about what happened and a toll-free number where patients can learn more about the incident.
