It is not true, as was once widely reported, that Elton John once hired a separate hotel room for his eyeglasses. It is, however, true that the legendary singer/songwriter/rocket man has a collection of specs numbering somewhere in the area of 250,000 pairs. And he keeps adding new ones, as evidenced by his recent foray to an LA Eyeworks in Los Angeles. A video camera caught him trying on several options before making his purchase.
