Custom soft and gas permeable contact lens manufacturer GP Specialists, Inc. has recently expanded its iSight Scleral contact lenses to include a toric option for astigmatic patients. The iSight scleral are available in four material options.
“Finding the best contact lens option for irregular cornea patients can be challenging, and we wanted to help make this process easier for eye care professionals by providing a go-to option for hard-to-fit patients,” says Mark Cosgrove, director of operations for GP Specialists.
The iSight Scleral toric contact lenses for astigmatism is available in a diameter range of 14.2 mm to 24 mm, with a standard diameter of 16.4 mm. The lenses include cylinder powers of -0.25 D to -10.00 D in 0.25 D steps, with axis ranging from 1° to 180° in 1° steps. The lens can fit base curves of 5.50 to 9.50, and is available in a power range of -20.00 to +20.00 in .25 step increments.
Additionally, the entire iSight Scleral contact lens family is now available in four material options. The first is the HDS 100 from Paragon – the standard iSight lens material that offers high oxygen permeability and increased stability. Other material options now include Optimum Extra 100dk material from Contamac™, BostonXO from Polymer Technologies and the most recent addition to the family Menicon Z from Menicon Co. Ltd.
“All of these materials were selected for their innovation, strength and high breathability to offer outstanding comfort and quality to our patients,” Cosgrove says.
