(PRESS RELEASE) DALLAS, TX — Texas State Optical (TSO) successfully hosted its annual Family Reunion Conference at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. This esteemed event brings together members of the TSO network, including shareholders, staff, and vendor-sponsors, for several days of collaboration, education, and networking. A highlight of the conference is the annual shareholders meeting, which took place during the event.

At this year’s shareholder meeting, the TSO network re-elected Drs. Cameron Smith, Benny Peña, and Nelson Juarez, along with David Friedfeld, to the Texas State Optical Board of Directors. The board, comprised of key figures who oversee the long-term strategic planning and operations of TSO, reflects the organization’s commitment to excellence in eye care and maintaining its leadership in the optometry industry. The inclusion of distinguished doctors and dedicated industry professionals like David Friedfeld underscores this commitment. TSO also announced the recipients of the 2023 Palladium Practice and Platinum Practice awards, which honor outstanding TSO practices for their exceptional performance, patient care, and community contributions. For the first time, TSO recognized TSO Dowlen in Beaumont, TX, as the first office to achieve Palladium Practice status, an honor awarded to practices generating four million dollars in annual sales. This milestone is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the doctors and their staff, signifying not only financial success but also the positive impact on thousands of lives through their care and commitment.

Additionally, TSO Rockwall and TSO Camp Bowie were named the 2023 Platinum Practices, having surpassed one million dollars in yearly sales. This recognition celebrates the exceptional teamwork and dedication of the doctors and their office associates, highlighting their ability to deliver top-notch care to patients and positively impact their communities. Furthermore, Texas State Optical proudly bestowed the 2023 Tom Ford Award upon Dorthy Warner. Dorthy, a respected optometry professional who joined the TSO Dowlen team in 1981 and became the office manager in 1988, has led the practice to significant growth and success. Under her leadership, TSO Dowlen evolved from a single-doctor practice to the first-ever Palladium Multi-doctor Practice. Dorthy’s dedication to providing excellent customer service and her commitment to prioritizing patients’ best interests have been instrumental in the practice’s success. Her role within the TSO family has provided her with the support needed to raise two wonderful children and develop meaningful friendships across the profession.
