Hilco is “extremely excited about the acquisition of such an innovative brand.”

Hilco Vision has acquired Austin-based Jonathan Paul Eyewear, which offers sunglasses designed to fit over prescription eyewear.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Paul Stables, founder and designer of Jonathan Paul Eyewear, will stay on with Plainville, MA-based Hilco.

In a press release, Hilco describes Jonathan Paul Eyewear as “the pioneer of the Fitover category of sunwear and the Jonathan Paul Fitover brand.”

Ross Brownlee, CEO of Hilco Vision, said, “We are extremely excited about the acquisition of such an innovative brand — recognized for its originality, functionality and design.
