(PRESS RELEASE) NORWALK CT — IDOC has announced the launch of eConnect, a monthly series of educational webinars designed to build on the learning available at The Connection, IDOC’s annual member conference. The series will explore topics of special relevance to the private practice community, with a focus on COPE-approved CE throughout 2021. March’s webinar, sponsored by an educational grant from Neurolens and attracting more than 300 registrants, was an in-depth review of the latest prism theories, discoveries and treatments.
“IDOC has been excited about the eConnect concept for some time now,” said Dave Brown, IDOC CEO. “Our members have always been eager to expand their knowledge in the company of their peers, which is what makes the Connection so valuable. The events of last year made it apparent that there was a real need for high-quality online education, and eConnect helps to fulfill it.”
After piloting the IDOC eConnect series in the final quarter of 2020, IDOC worked with their team of consultants and vendor partners to create an agenda that reflected the needs, goals and challenges of today’s independent eyecare practices, Each live, IDOC eConnect session will be available to all independent ODs free of charge through pre-registration.
Next month’s webinar, scheduled for April 20th at 8:00PM ET, is entitled “Review of Ocular Nutrition and Bioavailability of Omega Fatty Acids – The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” will be presented by Vin Dang, OD, FAAP. The webinar is backed by an educational grant from Science Based Health.
“We listened very carefully to what our attendees had to say,” said Bridgette O’Brien, Director of Marketing, “then designed an online education series that was relevant, topical and convenient to access, regardless of practice location.”
IDOC has been a leader in the development of virtual education formats, launching its first online-only annual conference in 2021 and hosting multiple virtual Study Groups throughout last year. To pre-register for the IDOC eConnect Series, visit here.
