BRAIN POWER

We get so many publications, I could never read them all (and still see patients). I am sorry to say I put many of them in the recycling bin, unopened. I am so glad that I decided to look through your magazine. I took it with me on a plane and had lots of time to really look through all that your magazine has to offer. It was so great to read about industry topics other than eye diseases and contact lens materials. Those are important, but those topics are covered by lots of other publications and courses. I was so impressed, I signed up for the Brain Squad right away. I look forward to the next issue! Dr. Jamie Lawson, Bayshore Eye Care, Bradenton, FL

ED: Thank you, Jamie! We’re thrilled you love INVISION. Thanks for signing up for the Brain Squad (and for filling out your first survey right away). All owners or top managers of optical businesses in the U.S. are invited to join us at invmag.us/brainsquad. We look forward to your participation.

MAGAZINE RACK

Picked up your magazine at a trade show and I’m just reading it and am in love! Better than Vogue, Shape, Self or Southern Living! I’m so disappointed I’m just finding you guys. Thank you for printing fun yet useful information. Thank you! Dr. Megan Sumrall Lott, Lexington EyeCare, Lexington, MS

ED: You’re welcome and thank you, Megan! We think of INVISION as an enthusiasts’ magazine for people who love the eyecare and eyewear business. Our readers literally make this magazine. You can check out all our past issues online at invmag.us/archives. This is a combined July-August issue (happy summer!), so you have some time to get caught up with the back issues.

REQUESTS LINE

I would like to see a legal feature. I realize laws vary from state to state, but there are situations that affect all of us: how to avoid malpractice claims, how to limit liability from slips/falls, landlord issues, HIPAA, copyright infringement … the potential list of topics is endless. Dr. Sarah Jerome, Look + See Eye Care, Minneapolis, MN

I would love to see an open forum where other professionals might share good ideas or ask questions. Also, have you ever had suggestions or thoughts on selling an optical office? Some of us are beginning the process of an exit game plan and could really use some help in that area. Douglas Manhire, Douglas Manhire Opticians, Hackettstown, NJ
