(Press Release) International Vision Expo & Conference East, presented by Reed Exhibitions and The Vision Council, was recognized as the 74th top-ranked U.S. trade show on the 2014 Trade Show Executive magazine’s list of the Gold 100.

Vision Expo East has been ranked in the top tier of the Gold 100 since the list’s inception in 2007.

"The shows that make up the eighth annual Gold 100 account for about 1 percent of the roughly 11,000 exhibitions held annually in the United States," said Darlene Gudea, president of Trade Show Executive Media Group. "The shows held in 2014 that make up the annual Trade Show Executive Gold 100 tallied a total of 46,792,238 net square feet."

International Vision Expo East also received a Gold Grand Award for its OPTImum VIP Program, created for key decision-makers, boutique buyers, doctors and staff from $1 million practices, Vision Monday Top 50 lists, ophthalmic professionals, lab owners/directors and top level management.

Dedicated program hosts ensure the more than 1,000 attendees in this category receive special benefits, but more importantly forge relationships with OPTImum members to enable long-term relationships and solutions through strategic, value-driven education and purchasing opportunities, while enhancing awareness and understanding of the benefits in attending International Vision Expo & Conference events.

"Being named to the Trade Show Executive Gold 100 again this year is a tremendous honor for everyone who makes International Vision Expo East a success," said Tom Loughran, industry vice president, Reed Exhibitions.

"Producing a best-in-class trade show that makes a tangible impact on the future of the highly important eyewear and eyecare industry is an incredibly rewarding undertaking for us all."International Vision Expo East 2014 was held March 28-30 in New York, NY. The conference brought 597 exhibitors under one roof for the four-day event, occupying 262,186 net square feet of exhibit space at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center with a total of more than 23,600 participants.

"International Vision Expo continues to be a top ranked U.S. trade show and the ophthalmic industry’s premier event because it is more than a trade show," said Deborah Castor, vice president of shows and meetings, The Vision Council. "This is evidenced by new projects like the recently launched VisionariesCommunity.com, a new social sharing, networking and information hub developed exclusively for the growing Vision Expo community to encourage the creation, sharing and commenting of valuable content that addresses top-of-mind subject matters and supports professional and business development."

Vision Expo is also ranked fourth in the United States for medical and healthcare events.

Another magazine for the trade show industry, Trade Show News Network, puts Vision Expo East in the 85th position on its 2014 list of Top 250 US Trade Shows; International Vision Expo West holds the 123rd position.
