MUNICH – The Rodenstock Group, a manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses and frames, has named Anders Hedegaard as its CEO.
The appointment was effective Feb. 1. He follows Oliver Kastalio, who has led the company since 2010 and will take on a new professional challenge.
Hedegaard joins from the GN Store Nord A/S in Denmark, where he was CEO of GN Hearing, a producer of hearing aid technologies. Hedegaard has a broad background in the global life science and healthcare sector.
“I’m delighted to join Rodenstock as CEO,” Hedegaard said. “The company has a long tradition and strong reputation. It manufactures and distributes world-class products, utilizing most innovative technologies and has a huge growth potential.”
Kastalio stated: “I have successfully managed Rodenstock’s turnaround over the past years and set the course for further growth in the eye health sector through the introduction of leading technologies like DNEye. Now is the time to hand over management with a clear conscience.”
Founded in 1877 with its headquarters in Munich, Rodenstock employs around 4,900 people worldwide and is represented with sales offices and distribution partners in more than 85 countries. It maintains production plants at 15 locations in 13 countries.
