They just broke ground on a $10M facility.
As four eyecare practices in Illinois move closer to their planned merger, they’ve chosen a name for the combined business.
It will be called VisionPoint Eye Center, The Pantagraph reports.
The groups, all located in the Bloomington-Normal area, are McLean County Eye Center, Eyecare Associates, Eye Surgical Associates and Eye Surgical Associates.
They broke ground this week on a 28,000-square-foot structure that will cost $10 million to build. About 150 people attended a ceremony, according to The Pantagraph.

Dr. Scott Pinter of Eye Surgic said the name VisionPoint Eye Center is “literal in describing what we do but … also acknowledges that we are forward-thinking and have a vision for the future.”
The optometrists and ophthalmologists involved will be joined by optical boutique Specs Around Town, owned by Julie Kubsch. The business is moving to the new facility from downtown Bloomington, but will continue to operate as a separate business.
The groups hope to move into the new building in August 2019.
