Imagine electricity being conducted on top of your eyeballs.

Scientists in Australia recently completed some promising research on a new polymer film coating that conducts electricity on a contact lens, effectively paving the way for lenses to be transformed into computer screens, as Phys.org explains. One of the researchers calls the technology a “game-changer” because of the wide range of applications for it. “We’re talking about anything from a simple sensor that can measure the amount of glucose in your blood through to actually creating electronic displays so rather than having something like a pair of glasses that’s acting like a computer, you can actually generate images directly on your contact lens,” says Drew Evans of the University of South Australia’s Future Industries Institute.
