“We are rapidly expanding to new states.”

A startup firm called Simple Contacts has raised $2 million in seed funding for its prescription contact lens service.

TechCrunch explains that users take a standard eye test via mobile app. After the test is verified by an ophthalmologist, “users can expect to see a fresh prescription and a new supply of contacts ordered in minutes.”

The exam costs $10, according to Simple Contacts’ website.

The site lists 20 states where the service is available and notes: “We are rapidly expanding to new states.”

Joel Wish, the company’s founder, says the idea is to save money for contact lens wearers.

Autonomous Ventures led the seed round. Other investors include Justin Kan and Richard Park.
