MODO’s efforts to better the world have reached a new milestone – 1 million trees planted.
Through its sales of Eco in conjunction with its One Frame One Tree campaign, Modo is proud of this accomplishment. This significant tree planting milestone achieved by Modo’s environmentally responsible brand Eco, is part of a unique offering, whereby a tree is planted for each frame sold in collaboration with Washington DC based, nonprofit organization Trees for the Future.
The trees were and are continued to be planted in Cameroon. The sustainability initiative not only restores deforested lands, but also creates better conditions to grow crops, which in turn provides a means for local people to generate income. Rural farmers of Cameroon’s Western Highlands are taught sustainable land-use practices that improve the soil, yield better crops and protect the land from further erosion.
Being environmentally and socially responsible is at the heart of the ECO collection. Best put by the brand’s tagline: “LOOK GOOD, FEEL GOOD, DO GOOD”, the collection is well-designed, is made of either recycled materials or biobased materials and triggers a tree being planted for each frame sold. The packaging is also earth-friendly by being made of recycled fabric made from PED (recycled soda bottles).
“We have a responsibility to leave the world a better place than how e found it” says Alessandro Lanaro, CEO of MODO, “and we could never have an impact of this size on the people of Cameroon without the help of our many customers that support the brand and the cause.”
