The company is teaming up with an NBA star.
Basketball star and two-time gold medalist Kevin Durant is teaming up with Nike Vision for the third iteration of their collaborative line of optical eyewear.
With the release, Nike “is looking to become a player in the designer eyewear market,” Benzinga reports.
The new KD Signature Collection will feature three adult and three children’s styles in a variety of shapes, colors options and patterns worn and inspired by Durant, according to a press release from Nike Vision. Durant plays for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors.
The collection “boasts sophisticated colors and patterns that Nike has incorporated into KD’s shoe and apparel collections,” according to the release. Each style also features a KD logo plaque on the inside temple tip and Durant’s signature laser-etched on the core wire on the temples.

Prices for the collection range from $197 to $297. Marchon serves as manufacturer and distributor for the eyewear.
Nike Vision is also releasing 35 limited-edition sets corresponding to Durant’s jersey number.
By releasing the collection, Nike is “capitalizing on a trend for NBA stars to wear eyewear as a fashion staple,” Benzinga notes.
