Opternative Gets a New CEO

Opternative, a Chicago-based online eye exam company, has named Brent Rasmussen as its CEO.

Rasmussen’s background includes time as a high-ranking executive at CareerBuilder, Crain’s Chicago Business reports.

Rasmussen steps into the role vacated by co-founder Aaron Dallek. Dallek’s LinkedIn profile indicates that his tenure in the chief executive role ended in December 2016.

Rasmussen served as president of CareerBuilder North America from 2008 to 2014. Before that, he served as chief operating officer for three years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

More recently, he’s served as a partner with private equity firm Highlands Ventures.

Opternative offers its tests to consumers but “sees bigger opportunity in the B2B market,” according to Crain’s.
