(PRESS RELEASE) Last year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized reporting regulations on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also known as forever chemicals. The reporting period, which was originally scheduled to open on November 12, 2024 and close on May 8, 2025 has now been delayed. The new reporting period begins on July 11, 2025 and closes on January 11, 2026.
An update to the original document with more information can be found here.
PFAS are thousands of synthetic chemicals used for years in a wide variety of industrial and consumer products and are used in the manufacture of other chemicals, which are then used in other products. Since members of The Vision Council generally manufacture or import finished articles and not bulk chemicals, this alert focuses mainly on the regulations regarding articles containing PFAS.
